Vivian Gray

Vivian H. Gray is a distinguished public servant and recently retired elected trustee of the Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA), following more than 40 years of public service with Los Angeles County.

Ms. Gray served four consecutive terms on LACERA’s Board of Retirement, where she held several leadership roles, including Chair and Vice Chair, and contributed to key governance and oversight efforts.

Her broader public service career includes 10 years as a deputy sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and later serving as a senior founding attorney in the Alternate Public Defender’s Office, where she developed extensive experience in complex legal and policy matters.

Ms. Gray is also a recognized leader in the public pension field, having served as President of the State Association of California Retirement Systems (SACRS) and Chair of its Program Committee. She is a Board Leadership Fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors and has completed advanced trustee education programs through leading institutions.

She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of West Los Angeles, a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an Associate of Arts in Sociology from Los Angeles City College.
